Alex Kelly has been ever-present for the Casuals since becoming a late addition to the squad for the league kick-off in 2017.
Kelly was one of several new faces to join in the summer after impressing in a pre-season trial, and immediately broke into the first team while claiming the number four shirt as his own.
A youngster in the ranks of Crystal Palace and Fulham, he earned a professional contract after three years at Charlton Athletic. Signing the deal in April 2015, Kelly was unable to break into the first team but scored three times as the Under-18s were crowned Professional Development League 2 national champions.
Signing for VCD Athletic in a one-month loan deal in February 2016, his temporary move was extended until the end of the season before his release from the Valley in May. He scored a single goal for the Bostik Premier club.
A brief spell with Bostik Premier side Kingstonian saw Kelly make three appearances over three months, lining up alongside Casuals teammates Youssef Bamba and Toyosi Olusanya, but he didn’t feature regularly for a side throughout the 2016-17 campaign.
Missing just three league fixtures in 2017, the midfielder scored his long-awaited first goal for the club in a 1–0 win at Faversham Town in late December.
