Well-travelled midfielder Jack Battie returned to Walton Casuals in July 2017, five years after first featuring for the club.
A product of the Staines Town youth set-up, in which he played in the same team as Dominic Ogun, Battie spent the 2012-13 campaign with Farnborough Reserves before a very brief, one game spell at Walton Casuals. Featuring in a 1-0 loss to Corinthian-Casuals on 1 January 2013, it proved to be his only appearance for the Stags.
Battie joined Eastbourne Town in August 2013 before a move to Walton & Hersham in March 2014. A regular starter for the Swans, Battie began to prove himself with several appearances on the scoresheet.
He began to prove himself at Stompond Lane and got himself onto the scoresheet on several occasions in his final months with the club. Battie joined Combined Counties Premier Division side Guildford City in December 2015 and within three months had impressed officials at Farnborough. Joining the club for the final weeks of their Ryman Premier campaign, he marked his debut with a goal in a 3-2 win away to Billericay Town.
Battie returned to Guildford City on loan in September 2016 and faced a controversial debut. Marking his return with a 93rd-minute winner in a 2-1 win against Eastbourne United, it later emerged that loanees were not eligible to play in the FA Vase and the result would not stand.
With three goals and 20 appearances to his name in Guildford colours, Farnborough received an approach from Godalming Town to purchase the player, and an undisclosed fee was agreed in November 2016. Despite the transfer fee, a change of manager just a month later led to the midfielder joining Combined Counties Premier Division title hunters Westfield. Helping the team finish second but falling short of relegation, he returned to the Stags in July 2017.
Battie scored his first goal for the club in a 3-2 defeat to VCD Athletic in September, and added another in a Surrey Senior Cup defeat to Dorking Wanderers the following month.
In August 2017, Battie joined Chertsey Town on dual registration alongside Stuart Baldwin, Alfie Taylor and Evan De Brito Lopes. He made his debut in a 3-0 defeat to former club Westfield and featured again for the Curfews in February 2018.
