Maidenhead United loanee Josh Kelly took just 18 minutes to mark his debut with a goal on the opening day of the season.
Joining the club from the National League outfit alongside Sean McCormack, an 18-year-old Kelly scored four times in his first three games before finishing August as the league’s top scorer.
Having made 14 appearances in Maidenhead United’s National League South winning campaign, Kelly also had a brief loan spell at Chalfont St Peter during the 2016-17 season – scoring once in eight games.
Providing the opening goal in Walton Casuals’ 3-2 win at Hythe Town, he scored his first brace just three days later on his home debut. He added his second double the following month, providing both goals in a Velocity Trophy First Round win against Bostik Premier club Kingstonian.
By the end of September, he had attracted attention from clubs across the Premier League and EFL, and concluded the month with another brace in a 2-1 win over Hastings United. Kelly scored his 10th league goal in November 2017, scoring twice in the 90th minute to clinch maximum points in a 4-2 win against Whyteleafe.
