Stefan Cox’s second spell at Walton Casuals ended much like his first – with a red card in the final minute.
Cox was reunited with Anthony Gale for a second spell during the 2017-18 season, but managed just six appearances all from the bench before his release.
The well-travelled wide midfielder featured for Lewes, Beaconsfield SYCOB and Tooting & Mitcham United before being spotted by National League club Fleetwood Town. Scoring once in 19 appearances for the Cod Army, while also appearing for Chester on loan, Cox was released after one season and joined Hyde United for the 2012-13 season.
In the summer of 2013, he signed for Ryman Premier club Metropolitan Police before outings for Crawley Down Gatwick, Carshalton Athletic and Merstham a year later. Cox rejoined Tooting & Mitcham United in February 2015 for the remainder of the season, but returned to the Moatside Stadium ahead of the 2015-16 campaign.
His first spell with Walton Casuals began in December 2015, and he grabbed his first goal in a 2-2 draw with Carshalton Athletic two months later. A 2-1 defeat at Three Bridges in April saw an off-the-ball incident lead to the dismissal of Cox, who was later released with three league games remaining.
Upon his release, he had a brief spell with ninth tier club Kent Football United making just two substitute appearances. Totalling just 59 minutes of football for the Dartford-based side, Cox netted the fifth and final goal on his debut.
Cox left Walton Casuals for the second time in October 2017.
