Stags favourite Jack Sammoutis has returned to the club after a 10-month spell at league rivals Greenwich Borough.
The central midfielder first joined in July 2015 and scored eight times in 33 games during the 2015-16 campaign. His form attracted the attention of several National League and Football League clubs, and in March 2016, he had a trial at League Two club Barnet.
Opting for a return to the Stags, Sammoutis stepped up even more by finishing as the club’s third top scorer with 16 goals in 48 games. He was eventually snapped up by big-spending Greenwich Borough in May 2017, where he scored seven times in 28 appearances.
The Cypriot U19 international has previously represented Millwall U21s, Metropolitan Police, Margate and AC Omonia.
“I’m delighted to welcome Jack back,” said Anthony Gale.”I’m very much looking forward to working with this talented young man again. Jack will go straight into the squad to face Sittingbourne tomorrow.”
Jack spoke of his glee at a return to the club, now playing at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub, adding: “I’m delighted to be back – now it’s time to kick on and gain promotion.”
Everyone at the club wishes Jack the best in his second spell with the Stags.
